Who, when they were younger, didn’t use a crimping iron to rock some zig-zag waves? The zig-zag trend, so popular in the 80s and 90s is back, and with a bang. We’re in the middle of crimp-curl fever!
If you’ve never heard about crimped hair, also known as deep waves, then let us tell you now. They’re small zig-zag shaped kinks created using a special hot tool. As we’ve already mentioned, it looks set to be the coolest hairstyle of the summer, as it makes the ideal alternative to combat frizz and control those wild little top hairs. It’ll not only keep your style under control but it’ll also control the volume produced by humidity.
Although in 2015 it enjoyed a brief comeback, lately we’ve seen it paraded down many red carpets. That shows us just how versatile it can be. In this case, the actress chose a half up half down do tied in a low ponytail, with the upper area very smooth and slick, in contrast with the ponytail with its ‘undone’ and slightly backcombed, loose waves.
