The mustache… is back!

No, it’s not a joke. The mustache is back in fashion. The big chevron Magnum style, pencil, handlebar, there are many styles and ideas to play around with. Which do you like best? Depending on your style and haircut you may be inclined to one mustache or another. There are a great range or options to choose from. Here we check out which are making a big splash this season:

The Chevron

The Chevron mustache covers the entire top lip. It’s a very masculine Magnum-style stache; square, full and thick. It’s a mustache that, without a doubt, represents authority. This style suits men with a round, oval or triangular face with a wide forehead and strong cheekbones.

It’s the whole mustache + goatee pack that was so popular in the nineties. It’s ideal for guys who don’t have much facial hair. This style definitely gives an intellectual and creative air to anyone who wears it. Although it works well on any face shape it’s especially good for long faces. And want to know what’s best of all? That it doesn’t take a lot of looking after, so less worry for you.

It’s one of the most difficult mustaches to get because you need thick and tough facial hair. The difference from the Chevron is that it isn’t square shaped but finishes in an elongated tip. There’s also a beard version of the gunslinger, where wide sideburns meet the mustache in a horseshoe shape. Neck hair and cheek hair is kept short. All you’ll need to complete this look is a pair of cowboy boots and a trenchcoat and you’ll be good to go! This type of mustache suits round faces.

The handlebar

It’s the most creative and different from all the others, only apt for the most daring man. Although we bet that by now you’re already imagining the stache we mean, the one that’s turned up at the ends. It’s a little tricky, both to shape and control and it only really suits long faces.

For gentlemen only. This type of slim mustache doesn’t require an abundance of hair, although it will need frequent cutting to make sure it stays sharp and neat.   Guys with a long oval face will look very handsome with this mustache.   Whichever style you choose, remember to moisturize the area well as all that shaving can irritate the skin. Use Beard Oil from the updated Homme range to nourish and soften the skin and facial hair. Also its light purple shade will help to neutralize brassy tones caused by smoking. If you want to shape your mustache a little bit of Beard and Hair Wax can help you out, a long-lasting, soluble wax with gentle hold.
