Salerm joins the fight against cancer

Salerm Cosmetics renews its commitment to the fight against cancer with multiple actions to advance investigation. VMV Group Foundation has reached an agreement with the Spanish Cancer Association (AECC) - Barcelona Board, for the sponsorship of an investigation into the chemotherapy used in cancer treatments.

VMV Cosmetic Group donates 92.473 euros around the world to the fight against cancer.

The financial contribution by VMV GROUP FOUNDATION corresponds, on the one hand, to 42.000 euros raised by Salerm Cosmetics and Lendan Spain through campaigns organised to mark International Breast Cancer Day: special editions of Salerm 21 Pink and Ethernal Moringa Pink, which raised 24.745 and 4.232 euros respectively and, on the other hand, a direct donation from the Foundation to reach the amount necessary for the sponsorship grant.

The fight against breast, prostate and testicular cancer have been the focus of our most recent actions.

All of this money will be used to provide a grant covering the VMV Group Foundation investigation entitled Characterization of axonal damage in neuropathy by chemotherapy: temporal profile of axonal degeneration and regeneration and its repercussion on the different functional systems by doctor Jordi Casanova Mollá (Fundació Clinic for Biomedical research). The president of VMV Cosmetics Group handed the grant over to doctor Jordi Casanova Mollá during the Charity night for cancer research organized by the Catalan branch of the AECC held on february 16th.

The Salerm Cosmetics project

The project sponsored by VMV Group Foundation is designed to evaluate cancer patients before, during and after their chemotherapy treatment through tests which will reveal damage to the main nerves of the hands and feet. The objective is to determine a test that will indicate quickly and in a reliable manner damage to the nerves with the aim of preventing such damage in the future.

The investment

The Pink campaign organized by VMV Cosmetic Group in 2016 has donated a total of 92.473 euros worldwide. Special pink editions of Salerm 21 Express and Ethernal Moringa were produced, and for each item sold 1 euro went to the fight against cancer. Apart from the money collected in Spain donated to the AECC, in Mexico 110.000 pesos were collected and donated to FUCAM; in California 2.160 dollars were donated to the Susan G.Komen Breast Cancer Foundation; in New York 1.260 dollars to the American Cancer Society; in Costa Rica 2.724 dollars to FUNDESCO; in Portugal 600 euros to the Portuguese Women with Breast Cancer Support Association (APAMCM); in Chicago 180 dollars for the American Cancer Society and in the Dominican Republic 296.050 pesos donated to the Patronato Cibaeño fight against cancer. In total the company’s International branches collected 50.496 euros to donate to cancer charities.
