Tell me your face shape and I’ll tell you which bangs will suit you best

Are you thinking about bangs but aren’t sure which would suit you best? There are many ways to wear them: open, to one side, straight...Don’t be afraid, chose the ones which suit your face shape best. New year, new look. If you’re fed up of always looking the same, then bangs can be the key to giving your style a whole new feel. Don’t be afraid, bangs make you look younger. It doesn’t matter if your hair is straight, curly or disorderly, the secret is in the cut. Although the reigning monarchs this season are the open or curtain bangs, cut just under the eyebrows, there are different options than can really bring out your beauty. Take note!

Open or curtain bangs

As we mentioned before, this style bangs is on trend right now. In 2018 they’re worn longer than normal, just under the eyebrows, and are open in the center to uncover the eye area. This cut can be ideal combined with many different hairstyles, whether straight, with a ponytail, an updo or romantic braid, for example. To get the style just right avoid cutting straight to allow the hair to fall naturally to the sides. This way you’ll create a natural look that’s young and laid-back. It’s perfect for square-shaped faces, as it softens the angles of the jawline.

Side bangs

This type of bangs are ideal for square or heart-shaped faces (whose forehead is wider that their jawline), as it reduces the size of the forehead. It’s important that the cut is designed to balance out your facial proportions so that your chin is not the center of attention. If you go for the this style, a cut with gentle layers can be a good option to add movement and lightness. This way, your forehead will become a less prominent feature. This type of bangs requires more care than the rest. If you want to keep it looking nice then we recommend you cut it every two weeks do it doesn’t get too long and lose its pretty shape. To hold it in place and make sure it doesn’t get in your face all the time, we recommend using Pro·Line Pro Lac, great for holding hair in place and protecting it from external damage.

Aitana, the contestant from Spanish TV Show Operation Triumfo 2017, has put these bangs back on the map. It looks really cute whether you have an XL, short, straight or curly mane. Although it can look good on any face shape, it looks best on oval or round faces with a prominent forehead. If you have fine hair you should make sure that the cut is straight but asymmetric at the sides. If your hair is thick and there’s a lot of it then make sure your forehead is totally covered for best results.

These are your bangs if your face is long and thin with a wide jaw. There are two versions of this style: straight choppy or side choppy. This cut is ideal to add volume, movement and liveliness to your mane. As in the case of the curtain bangs, we recommend it’s cut at eyebrow height to make it more comfortable, and therefore, easier to manage.

You’ve seen them on the street, they’re very on trend and will give you a young and super-trend feel. The ideal bangs for triangular faces (forehead wider than jaw). Length on both sides establishes proportional balance of the features without highlighting your chin. If you have a lot of hair, avoid heavy bangs.

Bangs for curly hair

Curly hair and bangs are not always compatible. We don’t recommend short bangs because you’ll find them hard to manage, but you can try side bangs or long bangs can also look good on you.
