If there’s one thing that we must highlight from the last edition of the Golden Globes, it’s the parade of extravagant hairstyles that we saw there. Sometimes celebrities get it wrong with their over-the-top looks although there are bold ideas that can be pulled off with flair.

The star of Sex and the City has made a reputation for herself in Hollywood and the international world of fashion for her elegance and her spot-on choices in hair and clothes for important events. However, for the last edition of the Golden Globes her look was strangely reminiscent of Princess Leia, which she asserted had not been her intention. What do you think of the look?
Olivia Culpo
An extravagant but well selected choice. Olivia Culpo wore a very elaborate hairstyle to the last edition of the Golden Globes. The hands behind the creation belonged to stylist-to-the-stars Justine Marjan and was a lesson in getting it right when combining hair and clothing. A low updo with braids added an air of sophistication and elegance to the look.
Lily Collins
Someone who didn’t get it quite so right was Lily Collins who picked herself up a few extensions to build this XXL ballet bun creation. It would have been a very flattering hairstyle if it hadn’t been combined with such a romantic and over-the-top dress. The mix of the two didn’t work at all….
Karrueche Tran
Lastly a special mention for Karrueche Tran, who also decided on a topknot but in a more oriental and smaller scale version. Her creative layered look bun combined with a classic one tone dress allowed her to create an image of contrasts and a winning look. Definitely a great choice!
