7 habits that damage your hair (and you don’t even know it)

There are certain things that you’ve been doing forever and, although you don’t realize it, are damaging your hair. Using a hair styler on wet hair, using too much hair product or having a bad diet are just a few. We’re going to discover them all!  Yes, there are habits that form a part of your everyday beauty routine that, without you being aware of it, are damaging your hair. Don’t worry, we are here to reveal them all and help you to put the situation right so you can show off beautiful, healthy, strong and shiny hair. Wearing ponytails too often We know that they’re comfortable but slick ponytails tug on the hair and can suffer as a consequence. And that’s without mentioning unsuitable hair elastics, which can break the hair. We recommend you use hair ties covered in some soft material which won’t pull or tug on the hair. Washing more than once a day It can happen, especially in summer or when you go regularly to the gym. If it’s occasional don’t worry, but if you do it regularly you should remember that you can cause an imbalance in the scalp’s pH and cause a boomerang oil production. If your hair is already oily and you really need to wash it, then try using a dry shampoo which will absorb excess sebum just when you need it. Use it in moderation and from a certain distance to make sure you don’t leave white patches. Using too much product Sometimes we use more shampoo and conditioner than we need every time we wash our hair. If this sounds like you, you should consider that you’ll only end up leaving residues on the hair which can make it look dirty. To give you an idea you should use a quantity of shampoo about the size of an almond. Forgetting about your scalp We don’t just have to think about our hair, we also should remember our scalp. If your scalp is dry or dehydrated then try to use specific products, like our new Scalp Care from Salerm Cosmetics’ most natural range, Biokera. Thanks to the hydrating, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory power of honey it will nourish and care for your hair and keep it healthy and strong for longer. Not cutting regularly Although you may feel wary at times, it’s important to visit your hairdresser regularly to get rid of split ends. It’s the most efficient way to keep your hair shiny, silky and free from breakages.
