Layered cuts: 3 styles, 3 candidates

Ready to choose your new look? Then why not try one of the 3 cuts that we’re going to be seeing most over the coming months. They all have one thing in common: layers. here’s not a hair trend that gets past you, and we know it. As we already mentioned in the article The layered look is back!, this cut is going to one of the big trends over the coming months for two reasons: it creates the optical illusion of added length and volume (which is great if you have fine hair), suits pretty much everyone and is oh so versatile. Here we give you the lowdown on 3 layered looks for long hair. Have your pen at the ready!

Long layered cut

It’s the most classic haircut. It’s the most subtle option but will still give instantly greater volume, texture and body to your mane. When it comes to styling we recommend, without a shadow of doubt, open surfer waves. You can get the look with our Pro.line medium hold Curl Mousse with Kera 3 System and thermo-active properties. To get the look you’re after, use a styling iron for the finishing touch.

Short layered cut

Ideal for the boldest, most daring rock chicks out there. This cut aims for greater separation of the layers by cutting them short. Take care! If you have have a lot of hair, ask for a parallel cut to reduce quantity and give hair greater movement. If you want to be at the cutting edge, dry the ends in different directions to give hair a more natural finish.

Choppy layered cut

Whether you go for a long layered cut or a short layered cut you can add some choppy ends by using a scissor point-cutting technique on the hair tips. This cut, in contrast to straight cutting, uses the scissors held upwards to generate as much movement as possible. And for the cherry on the top, we recommend combining this cut with bangs, whether they are long, short or curtains…. Choose the one that best suits your face shape.
